  2. Not a Ford...Porsche "Longtail" 917...they'd run circles around a GT40. They'd hit 230-240+ on The Mulsanne Straight. If I remember right they were around 1200+ HP....

  5. I remember seeing the 917 race in the CanAm series at Leguna Seca. As I recall the car weighed 2300 lbs with 1200 hp. I believe Mark Donahue was the driver. That car could smoke the tires at any speed!!
